Polar Bears of Churchill
October 17 – 22, 2012
Starting from: $4,995
Polar bears are the worlds largest land carnivore, and here is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to safely come face to face with them in the wild! Each October and November, hundreds of polar bears descend upon the small northern seaport of Churchill, Manitoba, accessible only by air or rail, in anticipation of the refreezing of the Hudson Bay. When the Bay hardens, the polar bears can get onto the ice to hunt their favorite meal, ringed seal. During Orbridge’s 6-day expedition, you will have the unforgettable opportunity to observe and photograph the bears from the safety and comfort of a custom designed Tundra Buggy. Also, as part of the program, experience the thrill of a dogsled ride, delve into the local history and culture of the region, and participate in lectures and field presentations with your Orbridge expedition leader.
