Alumni and Students, here’s your chance to design the official Pi Mile 2012 t-shirt; voting begins on Monday, February 13, so come back to vote for your favorite! Winner receives their choice of a new iPod Nano, Kindle Fire, or a $200 Amazon gift card. Deadline for submission is midnight on February 8, 2012.
Contest Guidelines
- Only current Georgia Tech students and Alumni are eligible.
- You must incorporate Georgia Tech, Pi Mile, 40 years (it’s our 40th anniversary!), and the date, April 14, 2012 into your design.
- A t-shirt will be given to every registered Pi Mile participant, so your design should be one that appeals to the majority of the participants, including Georgia Tech students, alumni, staff, faculty and family. The design should capture the essence of Pi Mile.
- Designs may include line art and text but no photographs.
- Your design is for the front of the shirt and may encompass an area up to 10"³ x 10"³.
- Design may use a maximum of three colors (gold eeb211, blue 00254c, black 000000). The t-shirt for 2012 is silver.
- The design must be your own original, unpublished work and must not include any third-party logos or copyrighted material. By entering the competition, you agree that your submission is your own work.
- Please visit http://www.licensing.gatech.edu/logostrademarks.html for information on use of GT registered marks — buzz, wreck, interlocking GT, etc. You can use these marks, but only according to the guidelines. Contact Renee Queen at renee.queen@alumni.gatech.edu with questions.
Submitting an Entry
- Digital entries only. High-resolution images in .eps format are preferred. We will also accept VECTOR art entries in the following formats: .ai, .cdr, .pdf, .svg, .wmf. All fonts must be converted to curves. There should be no embedded bitmap images (jpg, tif, bmp). Colors should be spot with no half-tones.
- Fill out the entry form/artist agreement completely and fax to 404-894-5113, Attn: Pi Mile T-Shirt Contest. You may also scan and email the form to: pimile@gtalumni.org.
- Submit Pi Mile artwork online
- Submissions are accepted until February 8, 2012.
The Fine Print
- Maximum of one entry per person.
- All entries must include a signed artist agreement to be considered.
- Submissions are screened by the Georgia Tech Alumni Association for merit and feasibility; finalists will be posted to the Pi Mile website for voting.
- Online voting is open from February 13—March 9, 2012.
- The Georgia Tech Alumni Association reserves the right to make changes to the winning design before printing, including changes in image size or ink color or t-shirt color.
- By submitting your design, you grant permission for your design to be used by the Georgia Tech Alumni Association including, but not limited to, the Pi Mile website, the 2012 Pi Mile t-shirt and future marketing materials.
- The Georgia Tech Alumni Association reserves the right to final decision.
- The winning design will be announced on March 14, 2012. The creator of the winning design will win their choice of a new iPod Nano, Kindle Fire, or a $200 Amazon gift card.
