  • Get Involved with a Regional Alumni Club

    Build ties with the Institute and fellow Tech grads by getting involved with a local Alumni Club. With more than 100 national and international clubs, you are never far away from Tech. You can attend social events, participate in career networking, help recruit students to Georgia Tech or participate on the Club leadership team. Find a club in your area.
  • Join an Affinity Group

    The Georgia Tech Alumni Association currently supports several alumni groups formed because of a common interest from their Tech experience. Each group’s mission reflects a desire to connect alumni whether by culture, profession, etc., as well as support the Georgia Tech Alumni Association. Simply attend events or show interest in getting involved further by developing scholarships, heading up a committee, etc. Learn more about the various Affinity Groups.
  • Be a Part of the Young Alumni Ambassadors

    The Young Alumni Ambassadors (YAA) is a group started by the Young Alumni Council and is encouraged and supported by the Alumni Association and the Institute. The YAA is a group of involved alumni who assist the Young Alumni Council in their mission to develop relevant and meaningful programs and services for young alumni.   • Nominate Alumni for an Award

    Georgia Tech is enriched by the dedication and service of alumni and friends as well as the leadership of Georgia Tech throughout the world. Each year, the Alumni Association shows its appreciation for the contributions of Tech’s outstanding alumni with four awards: Dean Griffin Community Service Award, Outstanding Young Alumnus Award, Alumni Distinguished Service Award, and Honorary Alumnus Award. Nominations open in early fall and recipients are honored at the Gold and White Honors Dinner in early spring. Nominate outstanding alumni today!
  • Nominate Alumni for the Alumni Association Board of Trustees (BoT)

    The GT Alumni Association is governed by a 44 member board of trustees including 8 members of the GTAA Executive Committee and 36 trustees of the board. Trustees are elected on staggered three-year terms and 12 members are selected each year. Selections are made based on service to Georgia Tech and the Alumni Association, activities in communities and professions and philanthropy to Roll Call. Trustees are expected to attend quarterly meetings, serve actively on board initiatives and committees and further the mission of the Association.   • Join a Class Reunion Committee

    Each year, the 25th, 40th and 50th reunion classes come together on Homecoming Weekend to renew friendships and reminisce about their years at Tech. Each class has a committee whose role is to provide guidance and oversight for reunion activities including social events and fundraising initiatives. The classes of 1960, 1970 and 1985 will celebrate their reunions on October 7-9, 2010. Have a reunion coming up and want to get involved?   • Act as a Roll Call Matching Gifts Representative

    Employer Representatives are needed to contact fellow alumni within their companies. Representatives identify alumni who are eligible to use the matching gifts program and promote the benefits of supporting Tech.   • Be an International Alumni Representative

    If you live in another country and still want to stay connected to Tech, sign up to be an International Alumni Representative. You can provide valuable assistance to alumni traveling or living abroad through networking and even support Tech through student recruiting.   • Be an Advocate by Joining the Georgia Tech Legislative Network

    The Georgia Tech Alumni Association Legislative Network is composed of alumni, students and friends of the Georgia Institute of Technology who volunteer their time to serve as advocates for Georgia Tech. Created in 1985, the Network builds relationships with state decision makers in order to develop greater appreciation and support for Georgia Tech.   • Share Your Tech Story or Memorabilia with the Living History Program

    Since 1994, Living History has collected, preserved and presented the history of Georgia Tech. If you have some Tech trivia, history or a fun story to share with them, email it to Living History.   • Become a Georgia Tech Alumni Admissions Program (GTAAP) Student Recruiter

    GTAAP’s goal is to enhance the reputation of Georgia Tech around the world by building effective relationships between alumni and prospective students. Members of GTAAP represent Georgia Tech at local college fairs, host or attend prospective student receptions, and/or contact prospective students by phone or e-mail.   • Host/Attend a Student Send-off Event

    Before new and returning Tech students pack their boxes and head to campus in the fall, they are invited to join parents, classmates and alumni at a student send-off celebration in their hometowns. Held throughout the country, these events provide the perfect opportunity for networking and for Tech students to learn about popular classes and professors, life in the residence halls, campus organizations, the college social scene and much more.   • Host/Attend an Accepted Student Event

    Congratulate area students who have been accepted to Tech and show them why they should be Ramblin’ Wrecks from Georgia Tech! These events provide a wonderful opportunity for accepted students to meet other accepted students in the area, GT students, and alumni to hear about the exciting opportunities awaiting them at Tech as they make their final decision.   • Mentor a Student Through Mentor Jackets

    Alumni understand the rigors of being a student at Tech. So who better to assist future alumni as they work towards that coveted degree? Mentor Jackets engages current Georgia Tech students and alumni in one-on-one personal and professional mentoring relationships. Alumni act as role models by sharing life experiences and advice with current students while teaching them how to succeed at Tech and beyond. Students have the unique opportunity to learn about specific career paths and seek guidance from alumni who work in a variety of fields and professions. Mentor Jackets is open to alumni around the world via e-mentoring so volunteer today to inspire, encourage and support a Tech student!
  • Be Interviewed by a GT1000 Freshman
    Anywhere in the World * One Time (1-2 Hours) * All Year
    GT 1000 is a 1-hour credit course designed to help Georgia Tech freshmen in making the most of their college careers and beyond. Research has shown that students who take GT 1000 make better grades and have a more productive college experience. The Alumni Association offers a module to GT 1000 classes which introduces the alumni network to freshmen students. Part of
    the GT 1000 course requirements ask freshmen to conduct an informational interview with an alumnus or alumna. Contact Darby Frizzell or Catie McCoy if you would like to be interviewed by a Tech freshman.
  • Participate in TEAM Buzz
    On Campus/Anywhere in the World * One Time * Fall Semester/All Year
    Held on Georgia Tech’s campus in the fall and throughout the country through alumni clubs all year long, TEAM Buzz Community Service Day and projects promote a sense of community and philanthropic spirit among the members of the entire Georgia Tech family.   • Nominate Alumni for the Young Alumni Council

    The Young Alumni Council strives to promote and serve the Institute and graduates from the past ten years by supporting relevant and meaningful programs and services for young alumni while encouraging lifelong participation and philanthropic support.   • Host Students at a “Dinner Jackets”Event
    Atlanta Area * One Time * All Year
    Create new memories for Georgia Tech students and make an impact on their lives. Dinner Jackets, a unique program coordinated by the Student Alumni Association (SAA), pairs students with local alumni for small dinner parties. Alumni hosts open their homes or invite students to dinner at a venue for good food, conversation and Yellow Jacket camaraderie. These dinners help connect students and alumni as well as shed light on their future endeavors. SAA cordially invites you to host a Dinner Jackets event for a group of 8-15 students. Dinners may vary from backyard barbecues to catered affairs to meet-ups at a local restaurant. As a host, you’ll provide the food and location for your dinner, and the SAA facilitator will make sure the students arrive hungry for food and guidance.   • Participate in Tech Beautification Day

    Tech Beautification Day was started in 1998 as a day of service where students could give back to their campus through a combination of general cleanup, landscaping, and bringing together the Georgia Tech Community as a whole. Since then, TBD has grown immensely in terms of volunteer numbers and variety of projects. The Student Alumni Association (SAA) invites alumni to participate with them in this fantastic event that gives back to the Institute we all love.

  • Participate in a Marketing Focus Group
    On Campus Only * One Time (1-2 Hours) * All Year
    Occasionally, the Alumni Association conducts focus groups with alumni to receive feedback on new services, programs, and products. Participants usually receive financial compensation and dinner in return for their time. Contact Renee Queen if you would like to be the first to be contacted when we hold future focus groups.
  • Assist with Ramblin’ On (Tech’s Graduation Party)
    On Campus Only * One Time * Spring Semester
    Held on the last day of spring classes and planned by the Student Alumni Association (SAA), Ramblin’ On is a party on Tech Tower Lawn celebrating students’ graduation from Tech. Graduating seniors enjoy food, drinks, free t-shirts, giveaways, entertainment and more. Ramblin’ On will be held on April, 29, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. on Tech Tower Lawn. SAA needs alumni volunteers to help with check-in, hand out t-shirts, etc. Learn more about Ramblin’ On and email us to volunteer.
  • Congratulate Grads at Commencement

    At commencement ceremonies in May, August and December, alumni and Student Alumni Association (SAA) members are onsite to congratulate grads and their family and friends.     Students are always looking for alumni to share real-world advice and insight at SAA and other events. Topics can range from sharing your career success story to speaking on networking, entrepreneurship, business etiquette, debt management, how to buy a house/car, etc. Interested in teaching students?   • Work with On-Campus Student Groups

    Alumni are vital constituents for student organizations at Georgia Tech, providing a link between the undergraduate experience and a lifelong commitment to the organization’s effort, whatever it may be. There is a strong correlation between successful student organizations and good alumni
    support. Consistently high-achieving organizations most often have a group of dedicated advisors who work closely with officers and members to continually work towards their mission. Fraternities and sororities have many opportunities for alumni to serve as advisors and resources to their members. Many student organizations look to alumni to provide professional mentoring and leadership development. Contact Kara Allen if you are interested in making an impact by supporting one of these groups.
  • Advise Students on Career/Life Skills

    The Student Alumni Association (SAA) needs alumni to participate in some of its programs and advise students on career/life skills. Programs range from networking and interviewing tips to basic dinner etiquette and how to buy a house. Interested in helping?   • Judge Student Contests and Interview Students for On Campus Positions/Awards

    Students need alumni volunteers to help judge contests and interview students for positions/awards around campus from Mr. and Ms. Georgia Tech to events like Greek Sing. Email Kara Allen if you are interested in being contacted when opportunities arise.
