The GT Alumni Association is governed by a 44 member board of trustees. This includes eight (8) members of the GTAA Executive Committee and 36 trustees of the board. Certain ex-officio positions include leadership from the Institute and the GT Foundation.
Trustees are elected on staggered three-year terms and 12 members are selected each year. Nominees are sought annually to fill slots on the Board of Trustees (BoT). In any single year, approximately 250 of the Association’s 125,000 members are nominated for service. The Nominating Committee of the board meets in the spring of each year and selects trustees from the nominations presented to put forward to the general membership. Qualifications for being a nominee include being an alumnus of the Institute. Selections are made based on service to Georgia Tech and the Alumni Association, activities in communities and professions and philanthropy to Roll Call. Trustees are expected to attend quarterly meetings, serve actively on board initiatives and committees and further the mission of the Association.
