Community Service

Georgia Tech alumni have long been known for their commitment to community service. In that tradition, Columbia/Midlands Georgia Tech Alumni Club members frequently give their time, talents, and gifts in the Columbia area.

Most recently, our members gave their time by loading food donated to the Harvest Hope Food Bank.

Please email us to help with our future community service projects.

Scholarships

One of our most important accomplishments is our annual scholarships which are awarded to outstanding incoming Georgia Tech freshmen from the Columbia area. We are always accepting tax-deductible donations for next year's scholarship. Checks can be made out to the "Georgia Tech Foundation" (put on the memo line "Columbia/Midlands Scholarship Fund") and sent to:

Georgia Tech/SC License Plate

The Georgia Tech South Carolina DMV License Tag is now available at (click to find) !

We were able to create this tag through the generous and overwhelming support of Tech alumni and friends from all over the state. The cost of the tag is $70, a portion of which (approximately $35) will go towards supporting your local alumni club scholarship fund. The tag is good for two years.

Quick Facts:
- To date, over $10,000 has been raised for Georgia Tech Scholarships.
- You are not required to pay the SCDMV $24 fee again (required of all license tags) when you get your new tag unless you are up for renewal. When you purchase the Georgia Tech tag, you will transfer that fee and renewal period over to your new tag. It will follow the existing renewal period.
- The South Carolina alumni clubs have reserved tag numbers 1 through 200. If you would like a certain tag number and you did not give to the Application Fee fundraising drive - with a donation of $50 or more to the Columbia/Midlands scholarship fund, you can select your tag number (from within that range) on a first-come-first-served basis (or until we run out of the reserved tags). Please
email Columbia GT Alumni Club President Troy Blalockwith questions regarding plates 1 through 200.

To obtain your Georgia Tech tag, please fill out a (click to view) SCDMV Form MV-95. On page one, enter "Georgia Tech" as the school tag you prefer.

Please email Columbia GT Alumni Club President Troy Blalock if you have any questions.
