Welcome to the Georgia Tech Alumni Association webpage for the Arizona Georgia Tech Club!
The Arizona Georgia Tech Club (GTAZ) is a non-profit alumni organization which provides educational, civic, and charitable programming for Georgia Tech alumni across the entire state of Arizona. Throughout the year, GTAZ sponors student recruitment, banquet, game watching, scholarship, and philanthropy activities.
We'd be delighted to see you at our next club event in Phoenix or Tucson! Check the "Events" tab for the current schedule of activities...
Get Excited. Get Involved.
The Arizona Georgia Tech Club is a great way for Georgia Tech alumni to stay in touch with what's happening at Georgia Tech, to meet great, new people, and to network with fellow Georgia Tech graduates, friends, and families in both the Phoenix and Tucson areas. Getting involved is easy.
First, be sure to verify that the Georgia Tech Alumni Association has your updated biographical information. That's how we stay connected. From there, join the GTAZ e-mail list to be included in local club correspondence. This e-mail list is a specific e-mail list for those who ask to be included on it and it includes our informal updates and local announcements. If you would like to be included on our club e-mail list, please contact us at GTArizonaAlums-subscribe@yahoogroups.com and ask to join. Lastly, be sure to visit the GTAZ website frequently for updates and details concerning our upcoming events.
From there, there are three basic ways to get involved with your alumni club:
Attend an Event or Meeting.
Join a Committee.
Become a Gold Member.
Attend an Event or Meeting
With so many events to choose from throughout the year, there is an event for everyone. Choose from speaker events, game-watching activities, family picnics, networking mixers, student luncheons, intramural sports, student recruitment activities, and committee/club meetings. If you can't find the right event for you, suggest your own idea. Some of the best ideas, such as alumni golf outings, came from interested alumni who wanted to schedule an event. When you attend, don't forget to bring a friend!
Join a Committee
We look for new enthusiastic alumni and volunteers to help our committees prosper and carry out the philanthropic and social nature of our alumni club. Today, one has the opportunity to choose from one of five open committees: GTAZ Club Scholarship, GT President's Scholarship, Student Recruitment, Philanthropy, and Young Alumni. Often ad-hoc committees are formed throughout the year to assist with initiatives such as t-shirts production or special events. Review the club website and club e-mails for opportunities to get involved or contact Michael Van Epp, CE '03 (mikevanepp@hotmail.com) directly!
Become a Gold Member
The Arizona Georgia Tech Club is founded on the ideals of creating a fun and social environment for Georgia Tech alumni and friends. However, a large part of our alumni club vision is to be a philanthropic organization which specifically focuses on Georgia Tech-related recruitment and scholarships. As our club has always, and will continue to operate under the premise that every Georgia Tech alumnus is a member, the club does not require membership dues. However, participation with voluntary membership dues is encouraged to assist in the club's ability to carry out its function and to help raise funds for our annual scholarship which assists local Arizona high school students to attend Georgia Tech. We encourage you to consider making a contribution to the club and its scholarship fund via the voluntary membership dues, thus becoming a GTAZ Gold Member. As the Arizona Georgia Tech Club is a non-profit organization, all contributions are considered tax-deductible to the extent allowable under current IRS codes and regulations.
