Ballad of Mark Teixeira

Two college students performed their YouTube hit, "Mark Teixeira Tribute," before the Atlanta Braves played the New York Mets on Aug. 31.

The song, written and performed by Auburn students Andrew Hall and Tyler Crawford after the Braves acquired the former Georgia Tech standout, has become an Internet sensation. Fans can even download the music video for $1.99 at www.titoandthegunshow.com and get a ring tone for free.

The Braves obtained first baseman Teixeira, Cls 02, just before the July 30 trade deadline. He slammed a three-run homer in his first game, a win over the Houston Astros.

As of Aug. 30, the performance on YouTube had received 178,000 hits, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Tech alumnus and Braves first baseman Mark Teixeira is now the subject of a song.
