Col. C.B. Drennon Jr., ChE 31, a classmate and confidant of Georgia Tech's legendary George P. Burdell, died May 24 at the age of 94.

High-Flying Alum
Georgia Tech alumnus and Atlanta native Shane Kimbrough was chosen in May as one of 11 astronauts in NASA's class of 2004. Kimbrough, MS OR 98, will serve as a mission specialist.

Women's Crew Strikes National Gold

Language School Receives 2004 Regents' Award
The School of Modern Languages in the Ivan Allen College received the 2004 Regents' Awards for Excellence in Teaching from the Georgia Board of Regents.

Alcohol Server Training Program Offered
Georgia Tech is offering a free online training program for managers and servers of alcohol in Atlanta to help them reduce underage drinking and sales to intoxicated patrons before they get behind the wheel.

The Alumni Association is accepting nominations for the Young Alumni Advisory Committee, a volunteer advisory group. Applications must be received by June 30, 2004. Thieves Steal Mini Baja Race Cars
Car thieves cut short the Georgia Tech off-road race team's competition in May and cleaned out its shop — including two custom-designed race cars and all its tools and equipment.

Men's Lacrosse Plays in National Tournament
The Georgia Tech men's lacrosse team made it to the second round of the United States Lacrosse collegiate national championship tournament in St Louis in May.

Record Crowd Sees Jackets Collar Dogs
The second-largest crowd to ever watch a college baseball game, 28,836, saw the Yellow Jackets rout the Dogs 12-5 at Turner Field, the home of the Atlanta Braves.

Tech Clinches Regular Season ACC Baseball Championship
