Women's Leadership Conference
![]() Alumna Sharon D. Larkin is a keynote speaker at this year’s Women’s Leadership Conference. This year's Women's Leadership Conference will inspire students, faculty and alumni to "lead a vibrant life." That's the theme for the conference, scheduled for Nov. 2 and 3 at the Student Center. Registration runs Oct. 1 to 24 and may be completed at www.womenscenter.gatech.edu/wlc. The cost is $25 until Oct. 17. After that date, tickets will be $30. Student tickets are $10 before Oct. 17 and $15 between Oct. 18 and 24. The conference will include three keynote speakers, 18 workshops, a career fair and an awards ceremony. The workshops focus on professionalism, passions and personal developments. Specific sessions will address confronting obstacles, climbing the corporate ladder, starting a small business and balancing careers and children. The conference will begin with a networking reception at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 2 and will be followed by dinner, the Women of Distinction Awards presentation and a keynote address by Sharon D. Larkin, IM 86, divisional vice president of human resources for Abbott Laboratories. The conference will resume at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 3 and will feature a morning address by Kathleen Kurre, executive in residence of the Georgia Tech Interdisciplinary Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship. The luncheon keynote speaker will be Celia Ruiz Tomlinson, president and CEO of the engineering and consulting firm Rhombus Inc. and author of "Don't Ever Tell me You Can't!"
