Tech Club Hits Home Run

This summer, the Washington, D.C., Georgia Tech Club played ball for a worthy cause — future Yellow Jackets.

The club's softball team played 16 games in the Capital Alumni Network and, in the process, raised nearly $2,500 for its scholarship endowment fund.

Forrester Construction Co. pledged to donate $10 to the scholarship fund for each run scored by the team during the season. In addition, six players offered to contribute $10 for every win. The Tech alumni scored 195 runs and won five games. A banquet held at the close of the season added another $200 to the pot.

Scholarships were awarded to two students from Virginia and one from Washington, D.C.
