Alternative to Rush-hour Traffic

Are business trips keeping you from sitting down to dinner with your family or catching your favorite prime-time TV show? One Tech alumnus is making the work commute quicker and easier for business travelers.

Edward Iacobucci, IE 75, is the president and CEO of DayJet Corp., created to help people travel directly to regional destinations for business and return home at the end of the day. Billed as the world's first per-seat, on-demand air taxi service, DayJet allows travelers to pay only for the seats they occupy and set their own flight schedules.

DayJet received help designing its scheduling and reservation system from School of Industrial and Systems Engineering professors George Nemhauser and Martin Savelsbergh.

Iacobucci recently appeared on NBC's "TODAY" show in a segment about DayJet. He also was interviewed by ABC News.
