Glee Club Goes Country

The Georgia Tech Glee Club's most requested song may be "Ramblin' Wreck from Georgia Tech," but the music troupe recently added some country hits to its repertoire.

The Glee Club took center stage with the current Country Music Association's Entertainer of the Year, Kenny Chesney, on Sept. 8 at HiFi Buys Amphitheatre in Atlanta. The country crooner was backed by the Glee Club for the performance of his hit single "Living in Fast Forward." The troupe returned to the stage for the concert's final encore.

The country group Sugarland, which was touring with Chesney, invited the Glee Club to perform at the concert.

The Glee Club will perform at 4 p.m. Nov. 4 at the Biltmore Hotel, 817 W. Peachtree St. N.W., Atlanta. Parking will be available in the deck accessible off Fifth Street. The concert is free, but donations will be gleefully accepted.

Next year, the Glee Club will be on tour. The troupe is planning a trip to England, Scotland and Wales in May. Founded in 1906, the Georgia Tech Glee Club is Tech's oldest student organization.
