Black alumni enjoyed the 2005 Homecoming party

Whether you want to blow your horn one more time or just get together with former classmates who share a common interest, Georgia Tech Alumni Association affinity groups have a number of activities scheduled for Homecoming Weekend.

The Georgia Tech Black Alumni Organization will host a business innovation breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 27 at the Biltmore Hotel, 817 W. Peachtree St. featuring John Salley, former Tech All-American basketball player and star of the Fox Sports Network's "Best Damn Sports Show Period."

Following the breakfast, a seminar titled "Innovation: The Fuel That Grows Today's Companies," co-hosted with the Hispanic Alumni Network, will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Global Learning Center at Technology Square.

Later, the Hispanic Alumni Network will host an alumni network reception from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Smithgall Student Services Building.

The inaugural meeting of the Georgia Tech Military Affinity Group will celebrate 90 years of Tech ROTC. Gen. Dan McNeill, commanding general of the U.S. Army Forces Command, will speak to the group at 5 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Wardlaw Building, 177 North Ave.

The Georgia Tech Band Alumni Association invites all former band members to attend the annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Ford ES&T Building, then grab their instruments and join the group on Saturday for a performance before the Georgia Tech-Miami football game.
