Roll Call Scores on Triple Bonus
![]() Alumni Association president Joe Irwin, left, College of Engineering dean Don Giddens and ExxonMobil vice president James Harris Roll Call found it can bank on the saying good things come in threes. The annual fundraising drive of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association got a triple bonus from its matching gift program — a check from ExxonMobil Corp., which triples donations from its employees. James P. "Jim" Harris, ChE 70, a senior vice president at Exxon Mobil Corp. in Houston and an Alumni Association trustee, presented Roll Call with a check for $240,000 on April 25. "This represents our three-to-one match of donations made to Georgia Tech by ExxonMobil employees," Harris said. Joseph P. Irwin, president of the Georgia Tech Alumni Assocation, said, "The generosity of Tech's alumni at ExxonMobil is outstanding. The matching gifts from the ExxonMobil Foundation are extraordinary. We're very grateful to our alumni, the foundation and the corporation." Roll Call contributions are one of the largest sources of unrestricted gifts made to the Institute. Unrestricted donations enable President Wayne Clough to address Georgia Tech's most pressing needs. |
