Reviewers Give History Video Excellent Marks

The Alumni Association's Living History program won an Award of Excellence in the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education District III competition.

Living History was honored for a video, "From the Ordinary to the Extraordinary: Georgia Tech Inventions and Innovations," produced in collaboration with the Georgia Tech Research Institute and unveiled during Family Weekend in September.

Marilyn Somers directs the Living History program for the Alumni Association. The video producer is Scott Dinerman.

Alumni Communications received a Special Merit Award in the photo essay and series category. The cover story from the Winter 2006 edition of the Georgia Tech Alumni Magazine, "High-Tech Triumph" profiled the Georgia Aquarium, the Tech alumni who played a role in its opening and the creatures who make the world's largest fish tank their home. The photographs were taken by Gary Meek. The article was written by Kimberly Link-Wills. The design was created by Everett Hullum.
