Women on Wednesdays presents a panel discussion, "Leadership Development: The How-to's of Serving on a Board of Directors," from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Jan. 25 at the Alumni House.

Topics include learning how to get involved, fulfilling responsibilities and using opportunities to advance careers.

The session will also cover the differences between corporate, civic and community boards and the qualifications necessary to serve as a director.

A United Way representative will provide information about serving on nonprofit boards as well as on agencies that are seeking board members.

Panelists include Sharon Hall, consultant for Spencer Stuart; Ivenue Love-Stanley, Arch 77, managing partner of Stanley, Love-Stanley; Elizabeth Noe, president of Board of Directors Network; Terri Theisen of Theisen Consulting; and Alexis Scott, publisher of the Atlanta Daily World.
