Alumnus Lands Aerospace Professorship
![]() Mark Costello, MS AE 89, PhD 92, has been named the Sikorsky associate professor in rotorcraft technology in the School of Aerospace Engineering. He returns to Georgia Tech after eight years on the Oregon State University mechanical engineering faculty. He also has served on the faculty at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and worked as a research engineer at Boeing and at the Georgia Tech Research Institute. As the Sikorsky associate professor, he will serve as the associate director of the Georgia Tech Center of Excellence in Rotorcraft Technology. Sikorsky Aircraft Corp., based in Stratford, Conn., is a leader in the design, manufacture and service of advanced helicopters for commercial, industrial and military uses. The Sikorsky professorship was announced during a December celebration marking the 75th anniversary of the Guggenheim grant that launched the School of Aerospace Engineering. printer-friendly version of this article
