Library Joins Digital Content Project
![]() The Georgia Tech Library is collaborating in a three-year, $1.4 million MetaArchive Project with the Library of Congress and five other regional libraries to capture digital content that is at risk of disappearing. Tech's library is partnering with libraries at Emory University, Virginia Tech, Florida State University, Auburn University and the University of Louisville as one of eight MetaArchive Cooperatives founded by the National Digital Information Infrastructure and Preservation Program supported by the Library of Congress and the U.S. Congress. The initial focus of the cooperative project is to preserve digital resources documenting the culture and society of the South. The overall goal is to build a nationwide network of partners to share responsibility for digital content and seek solutions for digital preservation. The Web site for the project is www.metaarchive.org or the Library of Congress Web site at www.digitalpreservation.org. printer-friendly version of this article
