This holiday season, Georgia Tech alumni can gift wrap 100 years of history as a stocking stuffer.
"Ramblin' Wrecks From Georgia Tech," the centennial history of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association, is off the press just in time for the holidays and to mark the 2008 centennial anniversary. The book includes a bonus DVD produced by the Living History program in the style of the old Movietone News reels.
"Sales of the book have been tremendous," said Jim Shea, vice president for Fundraising and Business Development for the Alumni Association.
Association President Joseph P. Irwin advises alumni to get their copies while they can. "The centennial history is a collector's edition with a limited press run.
"The Alumni Association was founded by alumni for alumni. That's our heartbeat. This is the story of some of our greatest personalities and leaders, who have helped shape and guide the Association," he said.
The book's title reflects the emphasis on Georgia Tech alumni, those who have directed the affairs of the Alumni Association, as well as many alumni who have played a significant role in Atlanta and Georgia's history.
