Divided House Gets Makeover

Paul and Cassie Templeton of Sandy Springs, Ga., have a love-hate relationship — they love each other but hate the other's college football team.

Paul, an avid Georgia fan, and Cassie, CE 94, sent their story to an Atlanta sports talk radio station that, along with The Home Depot, was promoting "House Divided," a search for college football fans who live in the same house but cheer for rival teams.

"We wrote that the Templeton family has been divided for years," Cassie said. "Paul's siblings all are Georgia graduates, but his father, Robert Templeton, is a Tech alum, IE 52. Even our children are divided; Jason, 6, is a Bulldog and Turner, 3, is a Yellow Jacket. We try to sit together at the game unless it becomes too painful — then we go sit with our friends."

Their version of clean old-fashioned hate won the ultimate home makeover — one-half of their house was painted Georgia Tech gold and the other Georgia red and black — courtesy of The Home Depot Home Services department.

The paint scheme remained divided until after the Nov. 25 showdown — a 15-12 Georgia victory.

The entire house was supposed to be painted in the victor's colors, but the bright red was even too much for the Templeton Bulldogs.

The Templetons — Paul, Cassie and children Jason and Turner — won the half-and-half paint job.
