Before they pack up the car with all the dorm room essentials, incoming students are attending send-off picnics hosted by Georgia Tech clubs around the country.
Fall classes begin Aug. 20.
"Our son, Sal Lizzio, is a sophomore at Georgia Tech. The send-off really helped him last year. He met students at the picnic and had them as someone he knew those first few weeks at school before he determined his own way," Theresa Lizzio said.
